BJP government will fall after June 1 voting, claims Abhishek Banerjee
BJP MP Kunar Hembram from Jhargram, West Bengal, has announced his resignation from the party, elucidating personal motives behind his departure. Hembram submitted his resignation to state BJP president Sukant Majumdar, stating " I am separating myself from the party with immediate effect. I have taken this decision for personal reasons after much consideration."
State BJP spokesperson Samik Bhattacharya said, "Hembram had informed the party about his decision a few days back."
Meanwhile the move gives rise to several speculations as it comes right ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
Reacting to his resignation, the TMC mocked stating "he resigned sensing defeat".
"He knows the BJP is going to lose the seat. So he has decided to quit," TMC MP Santanu Sen said.
